FAQ

How do BASE period underwear work?

Aisle undies feature a specially-engineered lining that combines super-absorbent Truetex™ technology with a leak-proof layer to keep you dry and feelin’ fly.

How much fluid do BASE undies hold?

When it comes to performance, BASE is no lightweight, absorbing 4+ tampons worth.

FAQ Image

Do I need to wear a pad or tampon with them?

Our period underwear are designed to be worn on their own, but they make great backup protection for a tampon or menstrual cup too!

How do I wash my Aise BASE undies?

Rinse the gusset in cool water before washing in the machine with your regular laundry. Hang to dry where possible - it saves energy & prolongs the life of your undies! Just make sure they’re fully dry before reusing. Otherwise machine dry low

Are BASE underwear compatible with Aisle Boosters?

We kept it super simple and streamlined with BASE undies, so you can just put 'em on and go. There are no gusset pockets in BASE undies so there's no need to use Aisle Boosters.

Definitely go up if you're between sizes!

I'm right in between M and L per the size chart, but these definitely run a bit small (I sized down to M for the BOOST brief and they fit me very well), so if I could go back in time, I'd order these in large for immediate comfort. For me, the main issue on these is a too tight waistband. That said, they'll stretch out sooner than later - I bought these specifically for working out in, so I'll be sweating in them a lot more than I usually do, and under tights/leggings, they don't feel uncomfortable for me. As well, I have a light-medium flow at best, and I'm not really wearing these for a whole day, so flow-wise, this isn't a problem either. It's a cute cut, and great for workouts, but just size up.

Could Be Better - Could Be Worse

I ordered these and a pair of Boost Briefs, both my first period underwear so I don't have much to compare it to. The Boost are like a soft cotton, these have more of a gym short feel - which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but they're different than I'd usually pick, kind of like a breathable athletic shirt turned into underwear.

The full coverage is great - and the all in one is my favourite feature - I would love to never have to fiddle with pads and add ons again.... but the coverage is definitely lighter. I had to change my first time wearing them (day 4 of 7 day period) because it was leaking unexpectedly so I'd recomend using back up or taking a spare pair until you know what they can handle.

For fit, I'd say these are snugger than the Boost briefs, I ordered a medium in both (my size in everything) and the legs on these are tight and roll a bit, if you're between sizes having the extra room might be worth sizing up.

I'm hopeful for fit improvements on the next release of these - I want to LOVE them but right now they're just so-so.

Runs small, scratchy fabric

I loved my first pair of aisle underwear so much I wanted to buy another one. However, the base shorty was a mistake. The size runs atleast a size smaller than the other underwear they offer (I'm an XL and would recommend a 1x in this one if I were to get it again) and the material is no where near as soft or stretchy. If your looking for comfortable period underwear, I would recommend looking at their other kinds first before settling on this one!
