1993
Founded in Canada, Aisle begins with the creation of washable cotton cloth pads—laying the groundwork for an emerging category of reusable alternatives to disposable period products.
2004
Aisle introduces the first commercially available leakproof period underwear, helping define another new product category focused on performance and sustainability.
2008
Aisle mentors the Ugandan startup AfriPads, contributing to the growth of a now-thriving social enterprise employing hundreds of people.
2011
Aisle releases its first formal statement on trans inclusion, removing gendered language across the brand to better reflect the people it serves.
2012
Aisle becomes one of Canada’s first Certified B Corporations, formalizing its commitment to accountability, transparency, and long-term impact.
Aisle supports the campaign to eliminate Canada’s tampon tax and launches the first leakproof boxer designed specifically for trans masculine customers. The company also receives B Corp’s Best for the World designation for social and environmental leadership.
2019
Aisle reaches a major milestone reaching over 200 million disposable period products diverted from landfills through reusable alternatives.
2020
The brand evolved from its original name, Lunapads, to Aisle, and celebrated the completion of the category’s first full lifecycle analysis, which quantified product impact from cradle to grave.
2024
Following a thoughtful transition to a new generation of leadership, the Aisle community rallies to support the brand’s next chapter, reaffirming the trust built over decades.
