I have been thinking about trying period underwear for several years, but kept being held back by the cost. Then my period showed up a week early, three days into the coronavirus shutdown. I found myself going to three stores, at 10pm to find one pack of my normal brand.
I decided never to be in that position again and started seriously researching. I ultimately decided on pads, because I have 100 pounds to lose, and wanted something I could use while my body is shifting. Because the underwear has to be tight, it would have to be repurchased several times as my waist and hips change shape.
When I looked at the different companies, Aisle stood out as a dependable brand, so I ordered 7 pads and the trial pack of cups.
My first period I used the cup and one pad, which was washed and reused three times. The cup wasn’t my favorite, but that one pad sold me. The rest went into the laundry immediately after my first period, when I realized how clean the process was. I had worried about rinsing the pads in public, but on my heaviest day, normally a 3 disposable pad day, I used only one maxi pad - and never got stinky or felt wet.
I am definitely looking forward to next month wearing only these pads.
