Cheap and Easy Quarantine Friendly Recipes

The vast majority of us may be in some form of self isolation but that doesn’t mean we have to settle on cereal for dinner! (Though if that’s your jam, more power to you!) You might be scrolling through Instagram and seeing beautiful sourdough boules and drool worthy dinners - and feeling like you’re not up to the task of being the Pandemic Gourmet. This could be doubly true if you’re not that confident in the kitchen.

We’ve compiled a list of recipes that are sure to keep you nourished and satisfied during this time with a focus on common ingredients that you likely already have on hand. (Seriously, who honestly has cream of tartar just lying around?)

Remember that substitutions can be made to these recipes to suit your dietary restrictions and to make use of what you have! Your choice of protein can always be added as well.

If you’ve gone to the shops to pick up some staples such as pasta and rice you may have noticed that many others have had the same idea. Don’t fret. Some great alternatives are potatoes, barley, quinoa, and lentils.

The recipes have been broken up into different categories so you can easily choose based on your mood. Just mix and match to nourish your body and spirit - remember, a delicious meal can do wonders for your sense of well-being in all ways.
